Mustard plasters are essential helpers in the treatment of colds, especially in young children. You can buy mustard plasters at the pharmacy, but for babies it is better to purchase those that look like strips, and not compress bags. Mustard plasters provoke the release of phlegm from the lungs and quickly relieve dry coughs.
Instructions
Step 1
Soak a mustard plaster in warm water and apply to the skin on the back or breast. The skin must be free of visible damage, otherwise severe irritation will appear. Apply the yellow card closer to the right side. If the baby's skin is sensitive, put gauze before putting the mustard plasters on, so the irritating effect can be reduced.
Step 2
Place a towel over the set mustard plasters. To enhance the effect, you can also put a cellophane bag, the burning sensation will be much stronger, but the effect will intensify. Only now, not every child will tolerate and will have to remove the compress ahead of time.
Step 3
Cover the baby with a blanket, and after 5-15 minutes, remove the mustard plasters and wipe the skin with a damp towel. Apply nourishing cream as needed. The exposure time depends on the baby's stamina, some children start crying after a few minutes and refuse to lie down, so choose the most appropriate number of minutes based on the specific situation.
