The skills of a 2-year-old child are an individual concept, but it is still worth highlighting some skills that are inherent in many children.

Thinking about the question of what a 2-year-old child should be able to do, take into account several criteria: emotional and physical development, speech, sociability. In addition, it is worth considering the desire for independence, which is expressed in the child's ability to serve himself.

At the age of two, the baby is still very dependent on the mother. In her presence, the child shows friendliness, but if she leaves for a while, he can scream and even throw a tantrum. For the rest, emotional balance is the norm, provided that all the needs of the baby are met: timely feeding, permission to take this or that thing, etc.

The physical skills of a 2 year old child are quite advanced. He already has a good command of his body, knows how not only to walk without support, but also to run. During this period, special attention should be paid to the development of fine motor skills of the limbs. Drawing will help with this. For example, 2-year-olds are adept at drawing straight lines.
Step 4
As for gross motor skills, a child at 2 years old easily jumps, including on one leg. And not only on the spot, but also through obstacles. In addition, a sign of normal physical development is the ability to hit the ball, grab a moving object, and walk backwards.

The easiest way to determine what a 2-year-old should be able to do is to observe him as he plays. If the baby takes on some role - for example, a mother or father of a bear or a doll - consistently performing the actions of the character he has chosen (feeding, washing, putting to bed), then he is developing normally. Skills such as the ability to add figures from cubes and recognition of their toys among strangers are also considered mandatory.

An important moment in the development of a child is speech. By the age of two, the baby should be able to pronounce words completely, without abbreviations, correctly build phrases, understand mother's words and intonations. If the child still speaks in monosyllabic sentences (for example, mom - to eat), or often forgets the names of certain objects, it is worth consulting with a pediatrician about his development.
Step 7
At two years old, children already know how to serve themselves fairly well. For example, they wash themselves and dry themselves with a towel. Self-service skills also include the ability to dress (without tying laces or buttoning up), drinking from a cup, holding a spoon, asking for a pot. Many children at this age know how to eat on their own, but not all of them willingly do it.
