It is very easy to knit mittens for a child. Novice craftswomen easily cope with this. Moreover, every mother is pleased to see her work, which her own child is happy to carry. And he will be happy to wear the donated mittens, warming with maternal warmth.
Necessary
- - yarn 125 or 210 m in 50 g;
- - a set of five knitting needles # 3.
Instructions
Step 1
Cast on two knitting needles the required number of loops. The number of loops depends on the girth of the child's handle. If the yarn is 210 m long in 50 g, then for a palm girth of 11 cm, you need to dial 34 loops, 12 cm - 36 sts, 13 cm - 38 sts, 14 cm - 40 sts, 15 cm - 44 sts, 16 cm - 46 p. if the yarn is 125 m in 50 g, then for 11 cm - 26 p., 12 cm - 28 p., 13 cm - 30 p., 14 cm - 32 p., 15 cm -0 34 p., 16 cm - 36 p.
Step 2
Distribute the loops over four knitting needles, and with the fifth (working) knit an elastic band 5 - 7 cm in height in a circle. For young children, a 1x1 elastic is suitable, in which 1 front and 1 purl loops alternate. You can knit an elastic band 2x2 (2 persons.p. and 2 N.p.).
Step 3
Continue to knit the baby's mitten after the elastic with the front stitch (all front loops), adding one loop on each knitting needle.
Step 4
Tie the main part of the mitten to the base of the thumb, measuring the distance along the child's handle.
Step 5
Leave a hole for the thumb on the third spoke. To do this, knit the first loop of the third knitting needle, and remove the rest, except for the last, on a pin. Next, on the right knitting needle, throw the air loops in the amount in which you removed the pin. Knit the last stitch of the third knitting needle and continue working.
Step 6
Tie further the main part about the size of the little finger of a child's hand and subtract the loops. Align the first two sts of the knit for the lower stitches on each knitting needle. When there are eight loops left (there are two loops on each knitting needle), cut a small length of thread from the ball and thread it into the needle. Put eight loops on the needle and pull them together, then hide the ends of the thread.
Step 7
Tie your thumb. To do this, transfer the loops from the pin to the knitting needle and add loops at the existing hem. Make the number of loops in multiples of three and distribute them on three needles. Knit down to the middle of your fingernail. Then reduce to 4 loops: knit 2 sts, and combine the next two. Using a needle, pull off the remaining loops and secure from the wrong side.
