Instructions

Step 1

At 30 weeks of singleton pregnancy, a woman is issued a certificate of incapacity for work. In this case, the sick leave period is 140 calendar days: 70 days before delivery and 70 days after. If the pregnancy is multiple, the term is increased to 194 calendar days, and the sick leave is issued at 28 weeks. In this case, the pregnant woman is issued a certificate of incapacity for work 84 days before delivery and 110 days after them.

Step 2

In 2011, amendments were made to the law on the calculation of benefits and maternity benefits, which came into force in 2012. Women who went on maternity leave in 2011 can choose to receive benefits in the old or new version at their discretion. So, in 2011-2012, an employee can choose to calculate benefits in connection with pregnancy, childbirth, in accordance with the previous procedure, from earnings for the last 12 months before the start of maternity leave, and in the absence of a period of work and earnings, based on the size of the official salary. The second option - according to the rules for calculating benefits introduced in 2011, maternity benefits are calculated based on earnings for the last 2 years of work preceding the year in which the vacation begins. Consequently, the new version takes into account the salary received from previous employers.

Step 3

At the initial stage, determine the total amount of payments (income, salaries) for which insurance contributions to the Social Insurance Fund were accrued for the last 2 years.

Step 4

To calculate the benefit, set the average daily earnings. To do this, divide the amount of payments accrued for 24 months by 730 (regardless of the days actually worked by the employee).

Step 5

To determine the amount of the daily allowance, multiply the amount of the average daily earnings by the percentage, which is determined depending on the length of service.

Step 6

Compare the amount of your daily allowance you get to your maximum amount. If the allowance calculated by you does not exceed the limit, then the amount of the maternity allowance is paid based on the calculated average earnings.
