Communication on social networks is significantly different from normal communication. We cannot include facial expressions, gestures, emotions in the process, which impoverishes our capabilities. When communicating on social networks, it is extremely important to observe some rules and ethics, which will allow you not to waste time in achieving the desired result.
Most modern people are registered on social networks. The most common social networks are Odnoklassniki and Vkontakte. Every day, millions of users visit their pages to find out news, chat with each other.
Communication on social networks is somewhat different from normal communication. There are certain rules and restrictions. Moreover, it is necessary to observe ethics, show respect for the interlocutor.
Differences from normal communication
Below are a few points explaining how social media communication differs from normal communication:
- waiting. If during a normal conversation you expect an instant answer to your question, then on social networks you can wait several hours, or even days. Banal questions: "How are you?", "Where are you now?", "How did you pass the exam?" and others may wait a very long time for an answer.
Of course, both "Odnoklassniki" and "Vkontakte" provide for the ability to communicate through chats, but still the waiting time is very long. Indeed, one of the interlocutors may move away from the PC, there will be a power outage or the Internet will "fly out";
- uncertainty. When there is no answer to our question, we can spend hours wondering why this is happening. For example, you wrote to a girl you liked that she was beautiful, but she was silent. Maybe she was offended, or maybe she just moved away from the computer - you cannot know for sure. We have to guess;
- full of meaning. When we communicate through social networks, we are not able to convey the whole meaning of the transmitted information, since we do not have the opportunity to express our emotions with facial expressions, gestures, intonation. Communication in ordinary words and emoticons significantly impoverishes our capabilities;
- empathy, empathy. In direct communication, we see whether the interlocutor is ready to talk to us or not. On social networks, we communicate with an imaginary phantom, presenting the interlocutor as beneficial to us at a given moment in time. Of course, you can use a video call, but not everyone does it and not so often.
How to be?
Considering all of the above, it's safe to say that you shouldn't be persistent when communicating on social media. If you were not immediately answered, stop trying to reach the interlocutor again. It may well be that he is busy or simply does not want to communicate at the moment.
Try to articulate your thoughts clearly, write what you want to convey using emoticons and an exclamation mark. Don't be upset if you didn't get an answer to your question right away. We are real people and do not always sit in front of a computer, waiting for the next message to come to us.
How to communicate correctly on social networks
There are several general rules, following which, you can benefit from communication in Odnoklassniki and Vkontakte:
- do not use banal phrases. For example: "How are you?", "What are you doing?", "Hello". The use of such phrases suggests that you will be swaying for a long time before starting a normal conversation, if at all. Of course, you need to say hello, but right after the greeting you need to ask a specific question or share interesting information. In this case, you can expect a response;
- if you want communication to take place in the form of a dialogue, not only read messages, but also ask questions, express your opinion;
- if the interlocutor answers your questions shortly "no" or "yes", ask him a difficult question, which must be answered with a sentence. When continuing the same communication, without capacious explanations from his side, stop the dialogue, since the other side is not interested in it;
- in any case, do not immerse the interlocutor in your problems. You do not like being loaded, so act in relation to others in a similar way;
- do not offend the interlocutor with rude words. In general, try not to use bad words, do not speak in a negative way. This will quickly lead to a loss of interest in you as an interlocutor.
