Modern children do not always understand well why they need to study well. They do not see the need and do not feel a deficit in anything, for them a variety of entertainment in cities has been created or they find them on the Internet themselves. Therefore, these children are used to thinking that this will always be so and they do not need to learn to achieve success.
Modern schoolchildren are not accustomed to work - this is noticed by parents, teachers at school, and psychologists. But they are well aware of their rights and resolutely defend them if adults begin to call them to order. At the same time, the majority of schoolchildren have little understanding of their own responsibilities, including in studies. They are not sure that the school and university will be able to give them the necessary knowledge to become successful people in the future.
Why is this happening?
In part, this position is justified: in modern Russian society, people with higher education can receive much fewer workers without prestigious university degrees. This is especially evident in the field of entrepreneurship or big business. The imbalance in the size of salaries today is enormous, so it is no longer surprising and it seems normal that many specialists do not need a profession, they still go to work outside their specialty. In addition, the Internet opens up access to such a huge number of educational programs and websites with specialized knowledge that many schoolchildren understand that they can get the necessary skills even without school teachers, constant tests and preparation for exams. Children see and notice all this, which reduces their confidence in the constant reproaches and beliefs of parents that one must study well in order to find a good job later.
Teach to dream
Sometimes even younger schoolchildren cannot dream. This is their concept of adulthood, because for the most part people, growing up, cease to indulge in thoughts of the unrealizable. However, this is a very important skill for a child: immersed in dreams, he learns, begins to see his future life the way he would like. This means that he tries to see his future, to determine it at an early age. Parents need to work very carefully with this skill, support the child's aspirations, develop in him the desire to achieve something in this life. From here comes the desire to learn something specific, not for the sake of grades or praise from mom and dad, but for yourself. A child's own dream can motivate him to study at least those subjects that are interesting to him, and not just teach them for a good answer at school, but study them deeply. The more such interests in the life of a student, the more skills, theoretical and practical experience in different disciplines accumulate in him.
What not to do
There is no need to force to study and to compel to go to school. If the child refuses to do this, perhaps it is worth leaving him at home for a while, but at the same time giving him an alternative job so that he understands that without studying he will not be allowed to play or walk for days on end. You don't need to chase the result and force you to get only fives. It is better to pay attention not to the grades, but to the child's interest, to what he especially likes. There is no need to compare the student's progress with other children, set someone as an example, and scold the child himself for mistakes and mistakes. You can’t intimidate him, humiliate him, say that he can’t do anything.
