Chickenpox is one of the most common diseases among babies. However, in some cases it also occurs in adulthood. This disease is very contagious, therefore it requires mandatory compliance with quarantine.

Most often, chickenpox is sick once in a lifetime. After recovery, the body forms immunity to this disease, and with subsequent attacks of the pathogen of chickenpox, it successfully fights against it. It is curious that children carry this infection much faster and easier than adults.
They are usually infected with chickenpox in places where a large number of people congregate: schools, kindergartens, playgrounds, because in the case of a single disease, the virus spreads at a tremendous speed and leads to massive infection. Therefore, children's institutions are always quarantined if any of the children visiting them fall ill with the disease in question.
The chickenpox virus is very poorly resistant to the environment.
Chickenpox symptoms
The varicella-zoster virus (Varicella Zoster) causes chickenpox in humans. Moreover, the infection occurs by airborne droplets.
The first sign of illness is a sharp rise in body temperature. It reaches 38-40 degrees. In this case, the sick person complains of a headache. After a while, a rash appears on the skin in the form of small blisters filled with liquid. This rash causes the main discomfort during illness - it itches, itches.
In very rare cases, chickenpox occurs without rashes.
After a while, the bubbles begin to burst, forming small ulcers on the surface of the entire body. For disinfection and drying, they are treated with a solution of brilliant green, and sometimes potassium permanganate. The next stage in the healing of wounds is to cover them with a crust, which in no case should be picked off, otherwise a scar will remain at the site of the sore in the future. Chickenpox can be treated at home.
Chickenpox quarantine
A person sick with chickenpox becomes infectious to others already 2 days before the appearance of rashes on the skin and mucous membranes. After the appearance of bubbles, the possibility of infecting others continues for another 7 days. The rest of the course of the disease does not cause danger to people who are near the patient.
The incubation period for this disease is 7-21 days. During this time, the virus with blood and lymph spreads throughout the body, gradually enters the skin and then leads to a rash.
If, after three weeks after contact with the patient, the child does not show the main signs of chickenpox, it means that he will not get sick.
