With the appearance of a nursing baby in the house, parents, due to the lack of proper experience, begin to torment dozens of questions, one of which is: when can you start to sit down the baby? According to experienced pediatricians, this process should not be rushed in any case. The child must be physiologically ready for the new position of the body. Of course, it is possible to teach a child to sit up early, but will it not harm a still not strong body?

Instructions

Step 1

A physically healthy baby begins independent sit-down attempts at around 6 months of age. This is the normal physiological age for a baby, when the need for a sitting position is caused by the desire to see the world around him in a new way.

Step 2

Nature is so conceived that a newborn is born with a straight spine, respectively, the "lying" posture is natural for him. By 2-3 months, he has a need, lying on his tummy, to raise his head. From this period, the formation of the cervical bend begins. The next stage is the first attempts to sit down, usually at 4-6 months. In this case, a bend is formed in the thoracic region. By 6-8 months, the child makes the first attempts to stand up. This process forms curves in the spine.

Step 3

All of these preparatory steps create future posture. And it will be formed correctly, provided that the child gradually master everything himself, without outside interference. Accordingly, the gradual formation of a healthy spine looks like this: independent flips from the tummy to the back and back, an attempt to kneel, crawl, an attempt to sit down, stand up and walk. Thanks to such timeliness of actions, the muscles are noticeably strengthened, forming a corset, and, gradually, the muscular and skeletal systems will be fully prepared for the child to sit down and walk on his own.

Step 4

If the toddler tries to sit up on his own, it means that the muscles of the chest, along the spine and in the abdominal area are sufficiently developed so that the child can sit up straight without additional support. Thus, the age of a 6 month old baby is the most optimal time to start sitting down.

Step 5

In some cases, parents seek to seat the child as quickly as possible and begin the learning process from almost 4 months. Such attempts can lead to serious problems during adolescence, such as scoliosis and other types of curvature of the spine. For girls, early sitting down threatens the curvature of the pelvic bones, which can cause difficulties during the birth process.

Step 6

There are times when, for some reason, the baby does not attempt to sit down by the due date. If the child is healthy, he does not have signs of rickets, diseases of the nervous system and other factors affecting this process, then parents should pay more attention to the physical data of the baby. Excess weight and loose mass can become an objective reason for unwillingness and inability to sit down yourself. Therefore, parents need to contact a specialist who will conduct a massage course or show parents how to properly perform physiotherapy exercises.

Step 7

During classes, it will be possible to sit the child on a hard surface, performing this exercise by lifting the handles through the barrel, allowing the child to sit for a few seconds without support. Gradually, the interval needs to be increased, controlling the situation so that the child does not fall, but also not helping much.

Step 8

Don't force things. It is necessary to wait for the right age and at the same time pay attention to the readiness of the baby himself to sit down.
