A gauze diaper is a baby care product, an alternative to diapers. Many mothers have to use reusable diapers. Someone chooses them out of a desire not to pollute the environment with tons of used disposable diapers, and someone for the sake of economy.

Step 1
First, you need to pick up the material. Gauze works best. It is sold in all pharmacies and fabric stores. The width of gauze, which is sold in pharmacies, is usually 90 cm, and for a diaper you need 1-2 meters (everything, of course, depends on how you want to fix it on the baby's body and what kind of diaper you are going to sew). And so that the edges of the gauze do not come loose, sew them by hand or on a sewing machine.
Step 2
There are two main ways of sewing diapers. Option one: take a piece of gauze about 2 meters long, fold it in half and sew a 100 * 90 cm square. And leave a small hole so that the diaper can be turned inside out with the seams. It will be more beautiful that way. The disadvantage of this diaper is its small thickness. The second option: you will also need to take a piece of gauze measuring 100 * 90 cm. Fold it in half, sew and turn it inside out. You should have a two-layer gauze rectangle 50 * 90 cm. Then fold it 3-4 times (it all depends on the width of the finished diaper that you want to get). Then sew the gauze folded in this way so that the diaper is easy to wash, and you do not have to fold it again every time.
Step 3
You can secure the diaper on the baby with safety pins or use an elastic bandage for this purpose. Or you can not fix it with anything, just put on panties on top or tightly swaddle the baby's legs with a diaper. Do not fix it with a Velcro elastic band, it can irritate the baby's skin.
