Expectant mothers, and not necessarily those who are expecting their first child, but also experienced ones, always have a lot of doubts and questions. Very often, pregnant women decide for themselves the problem of what to dress a newborn baby in a maternity hospital. And if you conduct a survey, then opinions on this matter will differ.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, familiarize yourself with the requirements for the hospital where you are going to give birth. There are those medical institutions that allow you to bring your own things for a newly born baby. As a rule, in such maternity hospitals there is a rejection of the swaddling system. The baby is immediately put on a undershirt with closed fingers (this is necessary so that the child does not scratch himself with small but sharp nails) and sliders. Such clothing allows the child to swing his arms and legs freely, explore the world around him and feel that he can move.
Step 2
There are maternity hospitals where strict rules reign, which young mothers have been observing since Soviet times. It is assumed that the baby, not yet able to coordinate his movements and not understanding what is happening, and that it is flying over him, is frightened. This means that he becomes nervous, cannot calm down for a long time. Therefore, from clothes for him only undershirts and diapers are needed - after all, he will be swaddled regularly.
Step 3
In some maternity hospitals, in pursuit of sterility, they are not allowed to bring their belongings to the postpartum department. There, women in labor and babies are given official linen. As a rule, these are all the same undershirts and diapers. The advantage of such clothes is that they do not need to be washed. Used things are put into a special tank, which is then taken to the laundry at the maternity hospital. There they are washed, floated and then brought back to change the children.
Step 4
If you are going to give birth in a paid department of the maternity hospital, where clothes for children and mothers are given, there will be exceptions for you. You will be allowed to bring your own baby clothes.
Step 5
In any case, you need to remember that clothes for a child should be made of natural fabrics, preferably cotton. Undershirts and sliders are sewn with seams outward, this is necessary so that they do not scratch the baby's too delicate skin. As for the diapers, their edges are also not stitched, but only slightly processed just so that the fabric does not crumble.
Step 6
Sometimes babies are put on caps in the hospital. This is done if there are problems with heating or closing windows for the winter in the hospital. Sometimes additional heat is used as a measure to help premature babies, because all processes in the body are slowed down in them. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain an optimal level of heat in them.
