With the arrival of spring and warmth, parents begin to think about what to dress their child in for a walk. Sometimes in April there are truly summer days, but you should not trust the warming spring sunshine. Sometimes such imaginary warmth can harm the health of a newborn child if he is dressed incorrectly.
Instructions
Step 1
April is a period of unsettled weather. One day it can be warm and quiet, and on the other, an icy wind blows. When collecting a baby for a walk, you should take into account all the inconstancy of the off-season. The child needs to be dressed so that he is comfortable and free on the street.
Step 2
Clothes for the baby should be made of high quality materials that allow the delicate skin to breathe, protect from overheating, and maintain air exchange.
Step 3
A baby cannot control his temperature, so be guided by the weather and your own feelings. If you go outside in a T-shirt, then you need to put on at least one more layer of warmer on the baby.
Step 4
Remove warm blankets and shawls. A woolen hat is not suitable for spring walks. It is better to wear two thin hats that will protect you from the wind and keep your body from overheating.
Step 5
Clothing for a newborn should be multi-layered. It is better to put on a pair of blouses on your baby than one thick jacket. If you see that it is hot, then the top layer can be easily removed, or, conversely, add another one. The most important thing is that the child is not blown in the wind. Do not think that by dressing your baby warmer, you will thereby protect him from colds. The baby will get sick faster from the heat than from the cold.
Step 6
For the bottom layer of clothing, a vest or a thin cotton jumpsuit is suitable. From above it is enough to put on a fleece or terry cloth suit. It is advisable to use one piece clothes so that the lower back and legs are not accessible to the changeable April wind. In addition, whole things do not constrain movement, do not rub anywhere and do not create pressure in the navel area.
Step 7
Leave your mittens and woolen socks at home. You can put on two pairs of socks on the legs, let one of them be warmed. The handles can be left open altogether. Check your nose and fingers periodically for fever. If the skin is cold, then the child is cold. Wet neck and back indicate that the baby is hot.
Step 8
In cool or rainy weather, you can bring a light blanket with you. Cover your baby if it gets cold.
Step 9
Swaddling fans can get by with one flannel swaddle and a thin blanket. Don't forget a warm hat. This will be enough for a walk on a warm spring day.
