Many parents believe that if their child already knows how to read and write, then he is completely ready for school. In fact this is not true. Each child is individual, it is possible to determine whether a particular kid is ready for school by several signs.
Instructions
Step 1
Before sending your child to first grade, assess his physical fitness and health. Education at school involves great physical and psychological stress, so if a child is weakened, often sick and has any chronic diseases, it is unlikely that he will be able to attend classes without absences. Consequently, he will study much worse than his classmates. For children with serious health problems, special forms of education are provided.
Step 2
Pay special attention to the child's intellectual readiness for school, which implies that he has certain skills, for example, the ability to analyze, generalize, compare, and classify. At the same time, a child going to first grade does not have to be able to write and read. It is much more important to teach a preschooler to reason, think logically and competently retell what he has heard.
Step 3
A child prepared for school has a positive attitude towards work and cooperation with his peers, classmates and adults who find themselves in the role of teacher-mentors. He knows how to act together with other people, to give in, and if necessary, even to obey. As a rule, having got used to the peculiarities of the manner of communication and certain requirements of teachers, children begin to show higher and more stable learning outcomes. Therefore, frequent moves, and as a result, the change of preschool institutions, negatively affect the formation of a child's social readiness for school.
Step 4
A child who is ready for school understands that not only entertainment awaits him, but also hard work, which consists in observing a certain discipline, school regime and program, and regularly completing homework. To develop a strong-willed readiness for school in your child, more often entrust him with a variety of important tasks.
Step 5
It is very important, before deciding on a child's admission to school, to assess his motivational readiness to learn. It, as a rule, is laid in the moments of observation of younger children over the process and results of education of the older ones. Therefore, families with several children of different ages are more fortunate in terms of the formation of motivational readiness.
