A woman's life changes dramatically with the advent of a child. Yesterday, being pregnant, you could afford almost everything related to food, and now there are products that are better to exclude for the sake of the baby's safety. You need to understand that the diet for each mother is individual, but there are basic principles that must be adhered to.

Drink, drink and drink again

The body of a nursing woman becomes dehydrated very quickly and it is necessary to replenish fluid reserves in time. If earlier it was recommended to drink 1.5-2 liters of water per day, now this amount should be increased to 3-4 liters. It doesn't have to be water - tea and natural juices are also great.

Vitamins are our friends

To get the required amount of nutrients, you need to know in which foods they can be found and with the help of this information to properly balance your diet. For example, various cereals and grain products contain the necessary complex carbohydrates, proteins are found in meat, and such valuable fiber is found in vegetables and fruits. To obtain vitamins, the doctor prescribes special vitamin and mineral complexes, which should not be neglected for the proper development of the baby.

Buy milk in a store or at the market?

Certainly, store-bought milk is much better and safer for a lactating mother than milk straight from under a cow. Taking risks buying homemade milk is risking the health of the child, since you cannot know for sure that the cow that gave the milk is healthy. The milk taken from the supermarket shelf has been heat-treated. There is a misconception that there are no nutrients in such milk, but this is not at all the case. Milk is thermally processed to remove harmful substances, and everything useful remains.

No diets

Many women, immediately after the end of the recovery process after childbirth, rush to get rid of the extra pounds acquired during pregnancy. They go on exhausting diets, start hunger strikes. This cannot be done. A nursing mother should understand that her task is to saturate her milk with useful substances to the maximum, and if she starves, then such substances will not enter the body, therefore, the child will not receive them either. As a rule, extra pounds go away by themselves if you eat right while breastfeeding. You can also reinforce this with a little physical exercise, but no more. A nursing woman should take care of herself to the maximum.

What food is better to forget for now?

Do not eat foods that can cause an allergic reaction: citrus fruits, nuts, coffee, chocolate, eggs and seafood. Although allergy is a purely individual concept and food tolerance is different for everyone, you should still treat this food with caution and carefully monitor the condition and stool of the child. The alcohol debate will probably never subside. Someone thinks that for the period of breastfeeding it should be completely excluded, while someone else claims that a small amount will not harm the baby at all. Doctors also allow you to drink a glass of wine or beer, but it is better to do this an hour after feeding, so that the milk has time to clear the next time. It is also better to give up carbonated drinks, too salty food and dishes with garlic for a while. Soda can be replaced with tasty and healthy compote.

The menu for a young mother is best coordinated with a doctor, depending on the characteristics of a woman's body. Health to you and your children!
