If the first diapers were paper pads with buttons inserted into plastic panties, today the diaper production technology assumes completely different layers of products. How are modern diapers made?

Instructions

Step 1

The modern diaper consists of three important layers. And each of them performs its own individual function. The first layer is an inner layer that retains moisture. This is an elastic, environmentally friendly material, hypoallergenic in relation to children's delicate skin, it is processed with special compounds that prevent the development of inflammation, deodorizing. This layer is permeable only from one side; on the other, it does not allow liquid to seep out.

Step 2

The next layer behind the inner layer is absorbent. Has absorptive capacity, turns liquid into gel, distributes it evenly over the surface. In case of accidental rupture of the diaper, the liquid that has got inside it, thanks to this layer, will not flow out, since it will turn into a solid gel substance. This absorbent must be technologically completely safe for a child, even if he accidentally swallows it due to unforeseen circumstances.

Step 3

And the last third layer of the diaper is outer. It is a durable polymer material that is impervious to liquid. It usually has a two-component structure consisting of a non-woven cotton fabric and a microporous polymer. It is this layer in the diaper, according to modern technology, should allow vapors and air to pass through, but not liquid. That is why diapers with such a layer are called "breathable".

Step 4

Various types of diapers have additional elements, such as elastic bands, which are elastic, soft, and can securely fix the diaper without letting liquid through and without squeezing the skin.

Step 5

Other types of diapers are equipped with Velcro fasteners and an upper belt, on which the fastener can be successfully attached anywhere, securely fixing the diaper on the child.
