One of the differences between an ectopic pregnancy and a normally developing one is the insufficiently rapid rate of growth of human chorionic gonadotropin in the blood and urine. When trying to diagnose her with a standard home test, a woman may well get a reliable result. The test will show the presence of pregnancy, since her body has already begun to produce a specific hormone.

The test strip may well show a negative result if the rapid test is performed too early. The level of hCG in biological fluids during an ectopic pregnancy grows rather slowly, so it is better to do a test no earlier than 4-5 days after a delay in menstruation.
Step 4
A pregnancy test cannot reliably determine whether a pregnancy is ectopic. This is possible when you receive blood tests, which must be taken every few days. If the level of hCG in the blood rises too slowly, or remains at the same level, an ectopic pregnancy can be suspected. A more accurate diagnosis can only be made by a doctor.

To diagnose an ectopic pregnancy, specialists refer patients to an ultrasound examination. Only with this method can this pathology be detected in the early stages.
