Step 2

Grind the cereals in a clean coffee grinder to a flour state, or purchase a special crushed cereal for baby food. It is better to cook porridge in water, because the child may have a food allergy to milk protein. Pour rice or buckwheat with cold water, and pour oatmeal or semolina into boiling water. Cook the porridge until tender over low heat, stirring constantly. Then refrigerate it. Before feeding, add 20 - 30 ml of breast milk or formula to the porridge so that the taste of the product is more familiar to the baby.

Step 3

Offer the baby 5-10 ml of porridge (about 1 teaspoon) before morning breastfeeding or artificial formula. In a day, increase the dose to 30 - 50 g and in a week and a half, bring the volume of one feeding to 130 - 150 g. In the second week, the baby should get used to the new food completely. After that, introduce another type of cereal. And when the baby has mastered all three types of low-allergenic cereals, prepare three-grain mixtures.

Step 4

In the first week, give the child 5% porridge, that is, 5% cereals for 95% water. Constantly monitor the condition of the skin and the nature of the baby's stool. After 2 - 4 weeks from the beginning of complementary feeding, replace the porridge with a thicker 10% porridge. After a month, add 3 - 5 g of butter or 10% baby cream (no more than 50 g) and sugar (5 g of sugar per 100 ml of porridge) to it, if the child is not allergic. And after the baby reaches the age of one year, gradually introduce milk porridge into the diet. First, cook the porridge in half milk, that is, half of the liquid is water and half is milk. If the child does not develop an allergy, replace the liquid completely with cow's milk after 2 weeks.
