To properly develop a child, it is necessary to understand the norms of this process. While your toddler doesn't have to fit within certain boundaries, it's helpful to know which way to move to help him grow.
Pediatricians have developed a special calendar for the development of a child in the first year of life. The norms are accepted quite conditionally, but they give a rough idea of the skills that the baby must master. You should not attach great importance to the established boundaries of weight and height, because children are already different from birth. Suffice it to say that by the age of one year, the child should triple its initial mass.
1 month
During the first month, the child has diffuse vision and hearing and does not know how to coordinate his movements. He's just trying to learn to raise his head. Until now, he has not got rid of the reflexes inherent in him from birth, the baby moves his legs, imitating stepping, presses his fists to himself and spreads his arms to the side with sharp sounds. The picture of the world around him represents a coherent picture for him.
2 months
The kid begins to show curiosity, follows bright images and can hold his head up for a short time. His eyesight and hearing are clearing up. While he is wary of the manifestations of the world around him, and this pushes him to whims. Thus, he seeks protection and peace from loved ones.
3 months
Within 3 months, the baby becomes more sociable. Now he enjoys studying himself and his parents. Tactile sensitivity develops, he seeks to touch the surrounding objects. In addition, now the baby can clearly distinguish between the faces of the parents and their voices. Over the next 4 weeks, he will learn to roll from back to side, hold his head firmly and lean on his forearms.
4 months
The 4th month does not bring any serious changes, except for the strengthening of the musculoskeletal system and the manifestation of emotional activity. The kid pulls toys into his mouth with interest, turns freely and can sit with support.
5 months
This period should be specially noted, since it is now that the active progress of the brain begins, this is the most favorable period for the development of motor skills and obtaining initial information about the world around us.
6 months
Six months after birth, the baby is able to sit and tries to crawl. Increased physical activity helps him to quickly master the world and its signs. Try not to restrict the baby in anything, only take care of his safety.
7 months
The child begins to crawl actively, and with support he kneels. If you take his hands and lift him, he will stand steadily on his feet.
8 months
During this period, the child learns to independently obtain the items he needs. His facial expressions and fine motor skills are rapidly developing. Now you can play okay. The sounds he pronounces become more varied. In addition, the baby can easily stand up with support.
9 months
During this time, the child becomes more irritable, because his brain begins to perceive large amounts of new information. But now he is subject to new movements, he can rearrange small toys, walk with support and overcome obstacles in his path.
10 months
The child performs many conscious actions, opens boxes, hides toys, stands unsupported and fulfills the simplest requests. Have your toddler wave goodbye or hand you a toy. He will happily learn to interact with you.
11 months
during this period, the child calmly moves in space. More clearly than before, he expresses his attitude to what is happening and knows most of the objects around him.
12 months
Around this time, your baby will learn to walk and will pronounce about 10 words. Now he knows how to open doors, offers games and is conscious of many things. He overcame all the main stages of early development and now it only remains to consolidate them.
