Step 1
Prepare everything for the procedure. You will need a piece of sterile cotton wool (or cotton balls), oil, or saline solution. It is better to take refined petroleum jelly oil, without fragrances. Do not try to clean your child's nose with cotton swabs, this is dangerous.
Step 2
Twist the cotton swabs Using clean hands, twist the cotton into small, thin strands. The average length of one turunda is 6-7 cm, thickness is 5 mm. 5-6 bundles are enough for one cleaning.
Step 3
Soften the nasal cavities. To soften the crusts and dried mucus, put a drop of saline in the baby's nose (you can use ready-made sea water solutions). After 10 minutes, you can start cleaning your nose.
Step 4
Dip the turunda in oil or solution and gently dip the turunda in a prepared oil or saline solution. Squeeze the tourniquet lightly before use to remove excess solution.
Step 5
Screw the turundas into the nostrils one by one. Hold the baby's head with one hand, and quickly carry out all the necessary manipulations with the other. Insert the turunda into one nostril, gently screw it inward to a depth of about a couple of centimeters and pull it out. Make two or three turns of the flagellum in the nostril - this will be enough to clear the nasal cavity. Also clean the second nostril. Keep changing the turundas until they come out clean.
Step 6
Help your child clear their nose naturally; you can use another way to clean your child's nose. Tickle your child's nostrils to induce a sneeze - do it with a feather or a piece of cotton wool. When you sneeze, pieces of mucus will fly out on their own.
Step 7
Cleanse the baby's nose from dirt. During the procedure, pieces of mucus and other traces of manipulation may remain on the child's face. Moisten a cotton pad with boiled water and wipe the nose area, removing any impurities left after cleaning.
