Instructions

Step 1

First of all, keep in mind that in the first days of life, there can be a lot of discharge from the child's nose. Don't panic - the child is healthy. He does not have a cold, he does not have a cold. It's just his physiology. And, accordingly, you will have to clean the baby's nose several times a day.

Step 2

Prepare everything you need for the procedure in advance and place it in a convenient place, preferably as close to the changing table as possible. This will help you avoid the hassle. The less nervous you are, the faster you will master the skill of clearing your nose.

Step 3

Purchase all the items necessary for cleaning the spout at the pharmacy. You will need very little: cotton balls and liquid paraffin, a little saline solution (for 1 liter of warm boiled water - a teaspoon of salt) or a few drops of aquamaris. Do not use cotton swabs. You could accidentally injure your child.

Step 4

Now show a little dexterity. Twist thin filaments from cotton balls. Their thickness depends on the size of the nostril, but is usually 3-5 mm. The length can be arbitrary, but not less than 5 cm. If you make the flagella shorter, it will not be very convenient for you to clear your nose.

Step 5

Soak the flagellum in oil and squeeze. Don't do it too hard. The flagellum should remain slightly moist.

Step 6

To remove dried mucus, apply a little saline or aquamaris to it, then screw the flagellum into the child's nostril to a depth of 1.5-2 cm and pull it out with twisting movements. Repeat the procedure several times. The baby's nose will be clean when there are no traces of mucus on the flagella.

Step 7

Do the same with the child's other nostril. Remove traces of oil from the baby's nose with a clean cotton ball.

Step 8

If necessary, petroleum jelly can be replaced with refined sunflower oil, and cotton balls - with cotton wool or cotton pads.
