In natural history lessons, schoolchildren receive an interesting and responsible task from the teacher - to keep a diary of observations of the weather. For several months, students enter into a special notebook all natural phenomena - rain, hail, snow, and also record the temperature and direction of the wind.

To fill out a weather diary, a student will need a checkered notebook - it will become a diary, multi-colored pencils or felt-tip pens. Gel pens can also be used. You also need to prepare a calendar, ruler, outdoor thermometer, barometer for measuring atmospheric pressure.

To make the diary beautiful and colorful, you can cut out pictures from magazines depicting the seasons, as well as various natural phenomena. Large pictures are pasted on the cover, and small ones - between months and in the corners of the pages.

The nature observation diary on the cover must be signed with the name, surname and class.

The checkered sheet needs to be drawn by day and month. The month name is written at the top of the page, and the dates are written on the left or right. You will get straight lines into which the indicators for every day will fit. These lines are divided again - vertically. At the top of the columns, the names of natural phenomena are written - air temperature, wind direction, pressure, precipitation.

Data are entered into each cell using conventional symbols. The values of air temperature and atmospheric pressure are described by numbers in three colors - blue, black and red. A blue pencil or felt-tip pen is used in sub-zero temperatures and below normal pressure. Red - with positive thermometer readings and increased pressure. Black is at normal pressure.

The direction and strength of the wind are indicated by arrows. North wind - up arrow, south - down, east - right, west - left. The strength of the wind is shown by stripes at the end of the arrows. Three stripes - very strong wind, two stripes - medium, one stripe - weak.

Weather phenomena also have symbols. A clear day is drawn in the form of the sun, partly cloudy is indicated by a half-filled circle, clouds - by a dark circle. Snow - a snowflake, rain - a drop, thunderstorm - lightning.

If the weather observation diary is kept on a computer, then it does not have to be printed on a color printer. You can use regular, black and white, and then beautifully decorate all the data with felt-tip pens.

The weather is monitored daily. It is best to capture natural phenomena during the day. In the dark, you may not see light rain or drizzle. In the cells you need to enter the readings of devices - a barometer and a thermometer, and record the precipitation based on your own observations.

At the end of each month, a summary is made of how many sunny days, how many cloudy, when the snow fell or melted. To make the diary more colorful, all weather changes that have happened during the month can be drawn. Or glue beautiful pictures cut from newspapers and magazines.

The weather diary will be more beautiful if you make it in a sketchbook. But in this case, you will have to very carefully draw out blank sheets of cells. You can also keep a diary on your computer. Create a table in Word and enter data there. In the "Insert" tab, in the "Shapes" subsection, you will find all the symbols - arrows, sun, circles, clouds, etc.
