Instructions

Step 1

The disease begins acutely. There is redness and swelling of the conjunctiva of the eyelids and eyeball, lacrimation. Examine the baby's eyes, starting with the eyelids, the conjunctiva of the eyelids, and the eyeball. Pull the lower eyelid down with your index finger or thumb so that you can see the lower transition fold. With the thumb and forefinger of your right hand, grab the ciliary edge of the eyelid, pull it down.

Step 2

Wash the child's eyes with a weak solution of potassium permanganate or a 2% solution of boric acid, drip a 30% solution of sodium sulfacyl or penicillin. Apply antibiotic ointment to your eyes. Take your child to an optometrist immediately.

Step 3

In acute infectious conjunctivitis, use antimicrobial drugs: antibiotic solutions, furacilin solution at a dilution of 1: 5000, 2-4% boric acid solution, 3% collargol solution. On the first day, instill drops in the child's conjunctival sac every hour. In the next 3-4 days, instill 5-6 times a day. In case of acute conjunctivitis, do not apply a sterile dressing to the child so as not to cause stagnation of purulent discharge.

Step 4

If your child has viral conjunctivitis, then you just need to use viral drugs (oxolinic solution or oxolinic ointment), fortifying agents (vitamins). If you feel unwell, fever, runny nose and headaches, the sick child should be isolated for 5-6 days.

Step 5

Make sure your child follows good personal hygiene. The child must have a separate towel. After applying drops or rinsing the eyes, be sure to wash your child's hands. In no case should a sick baby attend a nursery, kindergarten or school. Carry out the treatment until complete recovery, which must be confirmed bacteriologically.
