Step 1
There are usually no problems with collecting urine with infants. It is enough to pour some water or blow on the bottom of the tummy and the baby is already peeing. The main thing is to substitute a sterile jar on time. Sometimes girls can't get into the container. Here you can go for a trick: prepare a deep plate in advance, pour boiling water over it. Then do all the procedures - poured on the tummy, blew. Then just substitute the plate under the child and that's it - the urine is collected for analysis.
Step 2
For children from six months and older, who can hardly be kept in place, there is another way. In the morning, when the baby has just woken up, stick a special urine bag on his genitals. This is a sterile hypoallergenic pouch that can be purchased at any pharmacy. Usually children pee 5-10 minutes after waking up. As soon as the tank is full, detach it from the baby and pour the contents into the jar.
Step 3
There should be no problems with children already potty trained. Babies go to the toilet often and it will be possible to collect urine for analysis quite quickly.
Step 4
The main thing is to remember the simple rules that apply to children of any age: - Urine for analysis should be collected immediately after the child wakes up from sleep. This is due to the fact that morning urine accumulated in the child's body during the night and became more concentrated. And this is necessary for a reliable test result; - Before collecting urine, be sure to wash the child well with baby soap and dry with a clean towel. Girls need to do this especially carefully. Vaginal discharge can significantly distort the test results; - The jar for collecting the analysis must be carefully boiled (at least 5 minutes) or buy a special sterilized container in the pharmacy; - The container with urine must be delivered to the clinic no later than 3 hours after collection.
Step 5
Compliance with these simple conditions will allow you to get reliable test results. But even if the doctor has identified a deviation from the norm, you should not panic right away. Submit your urine again. Most likely, everything will be all right.
