Providing small children with free food is regulated by local government bodies. Each region has its own rules for receiving free baby food and laws governing the amount of products issued, in particular, and dairy products.
At the first admission of the baby to the pediatrician, the parents are obliged to offer a prescription for the milk distribution point. Similar points exist throughout Russia and in everyday life are called simply "dairy cuisine". However, all regions set their own conditions for the issuance of dairy products.
Who are obliged to issue recipes for a dairy kitchen?
All children have the right to receive food at the milk dispensing points. It does not depend on the baby's health, or on the way of feeding him, or on any other medical indications.
If, when visiting a children's clinic, the doctor does not offer you to write out such a prescription, then be sure to raise this issue yourself. If the doctor refuses, you can already contact the higher staff of the polyclinic or the health department.
In Moscow, for example, baby food is issued to all children with permanent or temporary registration, from the moment of birth until two years of age.
Issuance is carried out every 2 days, strictly according to prescriptions. A prerequisite is to get a new prescription from your local pediatrician every month until the 20th.
What is given in the dairy kitchen at different ages
The assortment of products dispensed at dairy distribution points depends on the age of the child and, as a rule, differs up to six months and after.
Children from birth to one year of life in the dairy kitchen must be given dry and fermented milk mixtures.
According to the laws of the capital, a baby under the age of 6 months is given a dry and fermented milk mixture. Moreover, the dry mixture is issued less over time, and the fermented milk - more.
In the first month of a child's life, you can receive 6 sachets of dry and 1 sachet of fermented milk mixture per day, from 2 to 4 months - 5 dry and 2 fermented milk, from 5 to 6 - 3 dry and 2 fermented milk.
After six months, the amount of dry mixture dispensed is reduced to 2 sachets per day, starting from 8 months, and fermented milk - to 1, starting from 7 months. At the same time, from six months they give another fermented milk mixture for older children.
Starting from 5-7 months, in addition to these products, you can also receive milk, cottage cheese and kefir. All of these baby milk products are dispensed 1 sachet or pack per day.
Starting from 5-7 months, milk, cottage cheese and kefir are added to the products issued in the dairy kitchen, which can be obtained until the child reaches the age of two.
After a year, it is possible to receive only milk, kefir and cottage cheese in dairy kitchens. The dispensing of mixtures stops when the child reaches the age of 12 months.
