The diaper is the very first piece of clothing for a newborn. It limits the movement of the baby and thus significantly reduces the space around him, creating a sense of safety and comfort. Full swaddling of the baby can soon be replaced by swaddling only the legs. This gradual adaptation to the new environment has a beneficial effect on the baby's nervous system.

Necessary

  • - two diapers (flannel and thin);
  • - two undershirts;
  • - disposable or reusable diaper.

Instructions

Step 1

Spread two diapers (thin on top of thick). If you are using a gauze diaper, place it in the middle of the diaper. Place a small protective oilcloth between the diaper and the diaper. When using disposable diapers, these measures are not required.

Step 2

Place the baby on the diaper so that it is 5-10 cm above his shoulders. Put on the child's bottom undershirt with the edges back and the top with the edges first. Wrap the diaper. Then you can start swaddling.

Step 3

Swipe the right side of the diaper between the left handle and the baby's body and wrap it back. Make sure that the top edge of the diaper fits snugly over your baby's shoulder. Wrap the left side of the diaper over the right side. Swaddle moderately tight to prevent your baby from releasing the arms quickly. Leave the handles in a semi-bent natural position while changing the baby.

Step 4

Throw the resulting lower part of the diaper over the wrapped sides (up to the middle of the baby's chest) and fold both edges in the same sequence one on top of the other. Secure them by tucking over the edge of the diaper. Straighten out all possible bumps and creases. Wrap the baby in the second diaper in the same sequence.

Step 5

Swaddling only the legs is done in the same way, only the upper edge of the diaper, in this case, goes under both arms of the baby. Swaddling up to the waist should be on top of a vest or a blouse, and fit snugly enough to the baby, but not tight.
