The very word "mantra" in translation from Sanskrit means "liberation or protection of the mind." It is believed that reciting mantras produces wonderful results. Many spiritual teachers claim that reading and even listening to mantras changes the body at the cellular level.

If you are just starting to recite mantras, and do it yourself, you need to take into account several basic rules of this practice.

Mantras are most often a direct appeal to the ancient gods, their praise and chant. Mantras are not requests or complaints, rather they are an attempt at energetic attunement and identification with certain vibrations and energies. During the correct reading of mantras, people become in tune with the Universe, tune in to the same wavelength with it, of course, this brings amazing results.

To choose a mantra, you need to understand why you want to sing it, for what purpose or need. Choose a mantra from a reliable source, it is best to contact fellow practitioners, study good sites, listen to the performance of mantras (this can be done, for example, on Youtube). Remember that the meaning of the mantra is secondary, the sound is much more important. To choose the most suitable mantra for you, listen to several options, concentrate on your feelings, try to understand which mantra evokes the greatest response in you. Be sure to find the written text of the mantra, this will allow you to learn it without mistakes. Only after memorizing the text, begin to master the singing.

Find a suitable secluded place where no one should disturb you. Lie or sit with your back straight. Relax, let go of thoughts, focus on the inner sensations. Inhale and exhale three times. Then start chanting or listening to mantras (in this case, repeat them to yourself). The mantra should be recited 3, 9, 18, 27 or 108 times. Some mantras require a specific number of repetitions, usually indicated in the description.
Step 5
Pay attention to pronunciation and intonation. The volume of the mantra should be comfortable for you. The sound of your own voice should not sound harsh or loud to you. In doing so, you should feel a resonance in the bones of the skull. Once you catch this correct sensation, you will not confuse it with anything. A correctly reproduced mantra gives the body an unprecedented feeling of lightness, it may seem that you are singing with your whole being.
Step 6
If you do not have the opportunity to retire for some reason, and you do not want to chant the mantras out loud, you can say them to yourself, and a feeling of lightness may also appear, it just requires a little more concentration.
Step 7
The mantras should be recited every day until the result that you hope to get from this practice is achieved. Some teachers recommend chanting mantras for three weeks, most often during this time the desired result appears.
