It happens that the expectant mother does not know how and when to tell about her situation at work. On the one hand, I do not want to advertise the pregnancy, on the other hand, it will not work to hide it endlessly either.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you need to realize what changes have entered your life. Having a baby is such a global event that no potential work problems should cloud your happiness. Postpone all the questions of how to conduct a conversation with an employer for later. Visit an obstetrician, do an ultrasound test, register with an antenatal clinic. Find out how you should adjust your diet and lifestyle, which vitamins and medications you need to take, and which pills are best off. Do your best to keep your little one developing normally. Walk and relax more. Remember that you are, first of all, a future mother, who bears great responsibility for the health of the child, and only then an employee with his work duties.
Step 2
Keep in mind that it is best not to talk about your situation until a certain period of pregnancy. The exceptions are situations when your work is associated with a risk to life, high physical activity, work with harmful drugs, and so on. In this case, you should immediately warn the management that you are pregnant. If you are engaged in mental work and the working conditions are comfortable, wait a bit in order to inform your superiors that you will soon become a mother. In the early stages of pregnancy, there are many risks to the child, so it is better to talk about your situation when the first worries are over.
Step 3
When the first trimester of pregnancy has passed, or your tummy is already starting to stand out noticeably, it's time to schedule a conversation with your boss. Your bosses should know by what date they should look for a replacement for you. If you can, want and are ready to work in the same mode before the onset of maternity leave, inform your employer about it. Believe me, upon leaving maternity leave, you will feel the gratitude of your superiors for a responsible attitude to your duties. But you should only do this when you really feel good and your pregnancy is progressing normally. If there are any health problems, it is better to warn the management about the possibility of your sick leave. It happens that due to placenta previa, low blood pressure, previous unsuccessful pregnancies or for other reasons, the expectant mother is offered to go to the hospital for conservation. In no case should you give up such reinsurance. But it is still worth warning the management that the pregnancy is not going very smoothly.
