Step 1
You are going to legalize your civil marriage so that in the “Marital status” column in your passport there is an official stamp on your marriage and marital status (married / married).
You can contact any department of the registry office in your city. To apply for marriage or divorce, you need to submit the following documents to the employees of the registry office: passports, marriage permit for persons aged 16-17, issued by the guardianship and guardianship authorities, a receipt for payment of the state duty. If one of the spouses was married / married, then the documents on divorce will also need to be submitted. It is not allowed to apply for marriage / divorce by third parties by power of attorney.
Step 2
After submitting the application, the registry office will notify you of the date of your marriage. As a rule, you have 1 month to think over your decision. If within a month you have decided to marry, then the application from the registry office must be taken, otherwise by the appointed time you will have time to write out a marriage certificate.
After 1 month in the registry office where you applied, you will be given a marriage certificate.
Step 3
In order for you to be stamped in your passports about your changed marital status, you must contact the passport office of the Internal Affairs Directorate at your place of residence. If one of the spouses changes their surname after marriage, he / she should apply for a passport exchange due to the change in the previous data.
Step 4
If the marriage certificate has been lost, then you need to submit an application to the court to establish the fact of marriage registration. On the basis of a copy of the court's decision, you need to submit an application to the same registry office to issue you a lost document. Documents, as a rule, are issued free of charge on the day of application.
