Step 1
There can be no universal answer to the question of what to wash baby clothes, since modern manufacturers offer a huge amount of laundry detergents, developed specifically taking into account the characteristics of baby's skin, which is sensitive to many sources of irritation. Therefore, do not purchase initially large packets of powder without testing the individual skin reaction to it in small doses. Otherwise, there is a great risk that material investments will not justify themselves.
Step 2
When choosing, make sure that the powder for washing children's clothes does not contain enzymes, surfactants and phosphates, so read the label carefully, but you can also focus on the price: environmentally friendly powders are not cheap, regardless of whether they are intended for adults or children. For the rest, you can use both powdery and liquid products, the latter are washed out of the fabric much more easily.
Step 3
Do not use powders for washing, not suitable for washing children's clothes, as they contain a sufficient amount of substances used as dyes, softeners and fragrances. For the same reason, avoid using chlorine bleach or age-matched fabric softeners. The latter can be dispensed with in principle, since they are more relevant for parents, adding a pleasant smell to the linen. A child, especially prone to allergies, can do without the latter, and ordinary ironing will give softness to things.
Step 4
If, for some reason, it is not possible to use special children's cleaning products, set an additional rinse cycle, which will help to rinse out the remaining powder from the fabric to a greater extent.
