Summer is a great time for long walks with your baby. It is in the summer that parents have a unique opportunity to show their child all the diversity of the surrounding world and the brightness of its colors. However, one should not forget that prolonged contact with the sun can harm the baby. Therefore, you need to walk carefully and wisely in the summer.
As a rule, during the summer period, parents and children tend to spend the maximum amount of time in nature. However, if the outdoor thermometer rises above 25 degrees, it is recommended to reduce the time spent in the air. Walking with a baby in this heat should be in the morning before 11 and in the evening after 5, during these hours the sun is less active. Since babies cannot be directly in direct sunlight, it is better to walk along quiet, shady streets or in a park area, away from dirty highways and hot squares. So you can not only protect your child from the sun, but also protect him from street dust and exhaust fumes.
A comfortable walk is unthinkable without comfortable clothes. The most suitable outfit for a child in summer is a light cotton jumpsuit (you can replace it with a T-shirt and shorts) and a light hat made of natural fabric. If the baby sleeps in a stroller while walking, you can skip wearing shoes and socks. As for diapers, during extreme heat it is better to walk without them (it is better to take extra clothes with you) or use special lightweight diapers for the summer.
Special cosmetics will also provide reliable protection from the sun. Most baby creams and sprays that protect against ultraviolet radiation are intended for children over the age of three, so you need to look for products that are suitable for your baby's age. Many well-known manufacturers offer protective creams that are approved for use from 6 or even 3 months. Moreover, the younger the child, the higher the protection coefficient should be (for infants under one year old - at least 35 units). Before using the cream, be sure to do a trial test: apply a little on the inside of your knee or elbow. If allergies do not appear within 24 hours, the cream is safe for the child. For daily walks, it is enough to treat open skin areas (arms, legs and baby's face) with the product at least 30 minutes before going out into the air.
