Not a single summer is complete without resting by the water bodies. Whether you go on vacation to the sea or spend it in the country, you will definitely swim. And of course, in the summer, it's time to teach your child to swim. The main rule: to do everything together, to be always there, to give the child confidence that, until he gets used to the water, you will support and insure him.

Instructions

Step 1

If the child is afraid of water, start gradually, use play techniques. While bathing at home, you can start "practicing" breathing exercises in the bathroom: teach your child to immerse his face in water. For more fun, buy brightly colored swimming goggles.

Step 2

If you are immediately learning in "deep water" (in a pond or pond), first give your child time to get comfortable on the shore. Prepare an inflatable ball, a swimming circle, arm ruffles - put toys that do not sink into the water and forgive the child to get them. If the depth allows the child to stand firmly on the bottom, give him a hand and invite him to look at the “underwater world”. Do everything together, first demonstrate the correctness of the techniques, tell your feelings from what you saw, so that the child has an interest and a desire to repeat, over time the fear will change to an increase.

Step 3

If the child is not afraid of water and enjoys swimming, then it is better to start classes without using additional equipment - just support the baby with your hands. One hand should support the head (when swimming on the stomach, keep it under the chin, on the back - behind the back of the head), the other hand insures the body (stomach and lower back). The arms and legs of the child should be free.

Step 4

Training should start with the following techniques: legs work in the crawl technique (like scissors), arms - breaststroke (like a frog). Of course, it is better to use substitute words with a child than professional terms. You can come up with them yourself, based on the interests of the child, so that it is easier for him to understand the essence of the exercise.

Step 5

Start with short sessions. For schoolchildren, 10 minutes is quite enough, since water takes a lot of energy and, due to fatigue, kids often refuse to study further.
