A well-formed daily routine is very important for a person. As lunchtime approaches, the stomach begins to produce juice. In preparation for sleep, the brain slows down. The difficulty in establishing the regime of an infant is that he is not yet able to distinguish the time of day.
Instructions
Step 1
During the first three months of a baby's life, the organization of the day regimen consists in a constant bathing time for the baby and laying down for a night's sleep. The newborn is still too young to suck out enough milk in one meal. He quickly gets tired, falls asleep. In addition, breast milk is digested very quickly, leaving you feeling hungry. Therefore, pediatricians agree that the child should be fed at his first request.
Step 2
In the first months, do not try to work out equal intervals between feedings of your baby. Forcing them to wait for the appointed hour, you push the child to screams and hysteria. Firstly, it negatively affects the mental state of the baby. Secondly, after a few minutes of constant crying, it will be difficult for you to calm down the roar. At the same time, trying to feed a child who is not yet hungry, you run the risk of provoking colic from overeating.
Step 3
From three to five months, monitor your child's activity. Many children help their mother in organizing the daily routine: they get up at about the same time, even out the intervals between feedings. For convenience, you can create a sign and mark the time of awakening, feeding, sleeping, etc. After a week, you will notice a definite sequence.
Step 4
If the regime is not established naturally, the parents will have to take matters into their own hands. Increase the portions of the food offered and the intervals between meals. At the age of 3-6 months, the child is able to withstand 3-3.5 hours without food. Distract your toddler with games, a bottle of water. If all else fails, and the crumb needs food, feed him a small amount of milk or mixture, leaving most of the portion for the planned meal. Try to go out for walks at the same time. Continue to follow your bathing and bedtime routine. Continue feeding on demand at night.
Step 5
Closer to six months, complementary foods are introduced into the children's diet. In terms of its calorie content, it surpasses breast milk, so the intervals between feedings can be increased to 4 hours. The child has breakfast, lunch, dinner and food before bedtime. In between, offer your baby juices, water and compotes. Night breastfeeding can be gradually replaced with kefir.
Step 6
To prevent a small child from confusing daytime sleep with nighttime sleep, show him the difference. It is not necessary to turn off the sound background from the TV or radio during the day, it is enough just to turn the volume down. Also, do not cover the windows. When preparing for a night's sleep, it is necessary to create a quiet and dark environment, to ventilate the room well. Developed rituals that are repeated from day to day will help, for example, bathing - eating - reading a book - sleeping.
