A crib mobile is one of the very first toys with which you can interest your baby. A correctly chosen rotating carousel will become an indispensable helper for you: it will calm your baby, lull him to sleep and entertain him as soon as he wakes up. However, in order for a new toy to benefit the child, the choice of a mobile must be taken with full responsibility.
Instructions
Step 1
Many mothers acquire adorable toys even before their baby is born or in the first weeks of his life. Take your time and postpone the purchase of a mobile until the baby is 2 months old. It is at this age that babies not only know how to fix their gaze, but also follow a moving object.
Step 2
When choosing a mobile, first of all, pay attention to its appearance. Considering that in the first months of life, babies are not able to perceive small objects, look for bright colors, large patterns and interesting toys. A mobile for a child is a means of getting to know the outside world, therefore, the more attractive and realistic the toys are on it, the more interesting the baby will be to watch them. A big plus is the presence of black and white objects in the mobile, since these are the colors that newborns can distinguish.
Step 3
Be sure to listen to the tunes in the store if you want to purchase a music mobile. Typically, toy manufacturers offer one of three options: classics, nursery rhymes, or nature sounds. Evaluate the quality of the melodies and decide how pleasant they are to you personally, because not only the baby, but also his mother will have to listen to them. It's good if the toy has a sound control function - so you don't have to "enjoy" loud funny songs in the evenings.
Step 4
Pay attention to how the mobile is started: from the battery or mechanically, using a key. Of course, the first option is more convenient, although somewhat more expensive. Replacing the battery is much easier than fixing the winding mechanism if it breaks. In addition, many battery-powered mobiles are equipped with a remote control, and you can turn them on even when you are in the next room.
Step 5
Check the mount: it should not have sharp protrusions and bend under the weight of the toy. It is convenient to use a universal mount that is adjustable in width and height - in this case, it can be fixed on a children's table or on the side of the arena.
Step 6
Position the mobile so that the baby cannot reach it. Toys on the carousel should not be closer than 50 cm from the face of the baby, otherwise the child may develop squint. As soon as the baby is sitting in the crib, move the mobile away for safety. If the kid does not want to part with the toy he likes, the mobile can be fixed to the ceiling.
