The best food for a newborn is breast milk. But after a few months, the baby should gradually get used to other foods. Typically, complementary foods begin between the fourth and sixth months. Juice can be used as the first complementary food, since its consistency is not much different from mother's milk.
Necessary
-
- Apple
- a pear or small package of the appropriate juice
- Plastic spoon
- Cup
- Bib
Instructions
Step 1
See how the baby feels after feeding. If he more or less calmly maintains the prescribed interval until the next meal, you can wait for a while. If the baby remains hungry, it's time to think about complementary foods.
Step 2
Check with your local pediatrician. He, taking into account the characteristics of your child, will advise where to start. Porridge, vegetable puree or juice can be the first complementary food.
Step 3
If juice is recommended as a first food, choose the one that works for you. This can be green apple or pear juice. Some children recommend carrot, but it's better to do it yourself.
Step 4
Give the first complementary food together. Take your baby in your arms. Put a bib on it. The second family member at this time pours the juice into a spoon. The juice can be warmed up a little to keep it at room temperature. The amount of juice for the first feeding should not exceed 1/3 teaspoon. Don't be surprised if your little one spits it out.
Step 5
If the baby has eaten complementary foods, watch him. There may well be a tendency to allergies, which will force you to reconsider his diet.
Step 6
Try again the next day. Give complementary foods at a specific feed - for example in the evening. Increase the amount of juice gradually.
Step 7
Enter the next type of complementary foods no earlier than a week later.
