Vaccinations are the most effective method of protection against infectious diseases. Parents need to know the schedule of vaccinations, contraindications to them, possible side effects.
Instructions
Step 1
A vaccine is a killed or weakened disease-causing agent or an artificial substitute for it. The vaccine triggers the natural production of antibodies, creating a smaller copy of the disease.
Step 2
The very first vaccination is given to a child in the hospital on the first day - the vaccine against hepatitis B. When discharged from the hospital, the baby must also be vaccinated against tuberculosis.
Step 3
The next vaccination of the child will be given at the age of 1 month - the second vaccination against hepatitis B. All vaccinations should be done only with the conclusion of the pediatrician and your written permission. Before each vaccination, the doctor examines the child and makes a conclusion about his health. You have the right to ask your doctor about the consequences of each vaccine, its composition and manufacturer. Based on the information received, you have the right to refuse to vaccinate your child. In this case, the doctor should warn you about the possible consequences of such a step.
Step 4
Any vaccination can cause side effects. The first days after vaccinations, the baby may be more tearful, possibly a rise in temperature. In difficult cases, there may be fever, rash. In the latter case, the child must be shown to the doctor. To accurately determine that this is a reaction to the vaccination and take this point into account during the subsequent revaccination.
Step 5
There are contraindications for vaccinations. The hepatitis B vaccine should not be given if you are allergic to baker's yeast. All live vaccines are not given for malignant tumors, reduced immunity. If the child weighs less than 2 kg, they do not get the BCG vaccine against TB. DTP vaccination is not done for diseases of the nervous system.
Step 6
It is necessary to postpone vaccination of a child with a recent infectious disease.
