Instructions
Step 1
Take a thick denim or raincoat fabric with or without insulation - depending on which season your child needs trousers for. Use fleece as insulation for your trousers.
Step 2
Take a pattern of children's trousers and think over which places of the pattern you will additionally strengthen with a raincoat fabric - as a rule, you need to strengthen the knees and the lower edges of the trousers, as they are subject to the greatest wear and tear.
Step 3
Place the pattern on the fabric using pins, circle with a chalk, and then cut out the parts, taking into account the seam allowances. Using the same pattern, cut out the details of the insulated lining. Cut the front part of the trousers a little larger than the "inner" trousers from the lining fabric, making an additional allowance of 1.5-2 cm.
Step 4
Consider separately the shape of pockets, decorative elements, and determine the location of decorative accessories. Attach details for decorating trousers, pockets and other elements to the front side, and then iron the allowances on all pockets and stripes. Sew on the details to the pants, and then stitch the bottom edges of the legs, backing 4 cm from the edge.
Step 5
Strengthen the pockets by cutting out the inside of the lining. Press the top edge of the pocket inward and sew from the right side, and sew the bottom edge with a decorative stitch. Stitch off all the decorative details in the same way.
Step 6
Decorate the pockets with embroidery or appliqués if desired. After you have sewn the lining and all decorative elements on the back and front half of the trousers, sew together the details of the trousers along the side and crotch seams.
