Natural or artificial feeding provides the baby with everything necessary for the first 4-5 months. Further, despite a sufficient amount of milk or formula, the child already needs a number of new substances, mainly mineral salts and fiber. Vegetables are their main source, which is why they appear first as a puree. But in order for the baby to perceive them normally, it is necessary to follow the rules for introducing complementary foods.

Instructions

Step 1

The first vegetables used to puree babies are potatoes, cabbage and carrots. Choose only beautiful-looking fruits for the child, without signs of spoilage. But since they can also contain a certain amount of nitrates and other harmful substances, soak them in a purified form in cold water a few hours before cooking or in the evening.

Step 2

For mashed potatoes, use medium-sized potatoes. It should make up half of the ingredients. Everything else is carrots and cabbage (later also pumpkin). Pour 200 ml of water into an enamel bowl and after it boils, throw chopped carrots and cabbage into it. After 10 minutes, add the potatoes, cover and simmer until cooked through, about 30 minutes.

Step 3

After the vegetables are cooked, chop them in a blender or put them on cheesecloth folded in 2-3 layers, mash them with a stainless steel fork, make a kind of bag out of the cheesecloth and squeeze the puree out of it. Then it will turn out to be the desired consistency. Add 1 tsp to the remaining vegetable broth. 25% salt solution, 2 drops of vegetable oil and grated vegetables. If the puree is not liquid enough, add breast milk.

Step 4

A single serving of food for a baby is 200 ml, but start the introduction of complementary foods with 1 tsp. Bring to the prescribed volume within a week. In the second week, replace one breastfeeding or formula feeding with it. To make the baby better eat a new dish for him - give vegetable puree before breastfeeding.

Step 5

When introducing any new food, observe the condition of the baby - his skin and digestive system. If you experience a strange rash or dyspeptic disorder, exclude a new dish and seek the advice of your doctor.

Step 6

More often than not, vegetables do not cause any digestive problems. And after 1-2 months, zucchini, beets, cauliflower and green peas can be added to the main ingredients of vegetable puree. The amount of oil can be increased to 1 tsp.
