The position of the child in the belly of a pregnant woman determines how future childbirth will take place. Usually, the baby takes a certain position by 33-34 weeks of pregnancy. Until that time, he can roll over several times, being in the breech, then in the pelvic presentation, or even in general in the transverse position.
Instructions
Step 1
Sometimes even an experienced obstetrician-gynecologist cannot determine the position of the child in the abdomen. The most accurate determination method is ultrasound. It is performed at 35-36 weeks of gestation. If the baby's head is at the bottom, they speak of a cephalic presentation. This is the most physiological posture of an infant during childbirth. The arms and legs of the baby in this position are pressed against the body, the back is directed to the mother's side, and the back of the head is directed to the entrance to the small pelvis.
Step 2
In breech presentation, the buttocks or buttocks and feet lie in the direction of the small pelvis, while the child seems to be sitting. Sometimes the baby can be in knee presentation when bent knees are directed to the entrance to the small pelvis. And quite rarely, in less than 1 percent of cases, the child takes a transverse position.
Step 3
Usually, the position of the baby after ultrasound is determined by palpation, i.e. the doctor feels the belly of the pregnant woman and finds the baby's head and buttocks. However, only an experienced doctor can determine the actual position of the child. Sometimes even doctors with many years of experience confuse the ass and the head of the crumbs. In such cases, an ultrasound scan is prescribed immediately before childbirth in order to determine the course of further events.
Step 4
Some mothers determine the position of the child by hiccups. Many people believe that where the characteristic contractions of hiccups are felt, the baby's head is located. But these sensations are too subjective and only by them one cannot judge the position of the baby.
Step 5
Often, babies in late pregnancy protrude a handle or leg, by which the mother understands how the baby is located. You can determine the position of the child while lying on your back. Then two tubercles are clearly manifested - the head and the buttocks. But at the same time, the head is movable, with a slight pressure, it deflects, and then returns to its original place.
