Before two loving people get the opportunity to tie their destiny, legalizing the relationship, they have to go through some formal procedures preceding this. One of the most important is filing an application with the registry office.

Application procedure
This issue is regulated by the Federal Law "On acts of civil status" in articles 24-30. In accordance with its rules, an application for marriage registration can be submitted no earlier than two months before the expected date of the solemn event, and no later than four weeks before it. Special cases
The law provides for the possibility to schedule those wishing to get married even on the day of filing the application, but for certain reasons. Typical of them are: a long business trip, pregnancy or childbirth, a threat to the life of the groom or bride.
There are some differences in the procedure for filing an application, for example, provided that the marriage is planned with a foreign citizen. The only significant difference is that not every registry office is authorized to make such decisions, and therefore it is necessary to familiarize yourself in advance with the list of institutions suitable for your case.
There are peculiarities in filing an application for registration of marriage with a person serving a sentence in places of deprivation of liberty. Then you cannot do without the assistance of a notary, who will deliver the necessary documents to the prisoner for signature and certify them in a legal manner. It should also be borne in mind that it will be possible to apply only to the registry office related to the locality at the location of the convict.
