Children start attending preschool at different ages. Their adaptation process also lasts differently. It is difficult for them to get used to the changed routine in their life and to such a regime moment as sleep.
If your child does not want to fall asleep in a group, first of all, find out the reason for this. Children who have just started going to preschool should not be left to sleep in the early days. This should be done only when the child gets used to the fact that he goes to kindergarten every day.
Make your home routine close to kindergarten. Even on weekends and holidays, try to stick to it. Having got used to the daily sequence of moments, it will be easier for the child to fall asleep in kindergarten. Sleeping in the middle of the day will not cause him a negative reaction, but will be associated with rest.
The reason for the child's wakefulness during the quiet hour may be his hyperexcitability. In this case, you do not need to force the child to sleep. Ask the teacher to sit with him on the crib for a while and stroke his back. This will help the baby to calm down faster and possibly fall asleep.
An overly active kid, having gained impressions in the first half of the day, simply cannot calm down quickly. His brain processes the information it receives.
The child is unable to fall asleep during sleep due to distractions. These can be noise outside the window, buzzing insects or uncomfortable temperature in the bedroom. In conversation with the group educators, point out this individual characteristic of your child.
Replacement of leisure activities
Children of kindergarten age, basically, live according to the regime. However, not all children can sleep at the specified time. Everyone has their own inner cycle. Therefore, it is better for the teachers of the group to take this into account during the first time the child is in kindergarten.
If necessary, you can contact a kindergarten psychologist. In his office, conditions have been created that allow children to relax. The use of special techniques will allow the specialist to find out the reason for the child's wakefulness.
Sleep in a quiet hour can be replaced by another type of rest. You can invite your child to just lie down quietly in the crib. Even if he lies down for twenty to thirty minutes, this will give him the opportunity to take a break from vigorous activity.
There are children who categorically refuse to be in the bedroom and do not let other children sleep. The reasons for this may be different. Replace sleep with quiet games such as board games. So the baby will be able to switch to a calmer type of activity and not interfere with the rest of the children.
