Very often, low hemoglobin values are found in infants. In such cases, mothers need to urgently take action, because delay is quite dangerous.
Low hemoglobin in an infant can manifest itself in various ways: primary and secondary. The primary signs include: decreased appetite, constant weakness, increased fatigue, general unsatisfactory condition of the baby.
Further progression of the disease can be expressed by the following secondary signs: pallor of the skin (in some cases, the appearance of an icteric tint), an unreasonable increase in temperature to 37, 5ºC, the presence of dark circles under the eyes, drowsiness, dizziness, frequent heartbeat and dry skin.
It is imperative to treat anemia in infants, since it leads to oxygen starvation of the tissues of the whole body and inhibits the work of the nervous system, which creates the prerequisites for lagging in general and mental development, while worsening the general condition of the baby.
You need to know that by balancing the diet of mother and child, you can only maintain the level of hemoglobin in the blood and prevent it from decreasing. In accordance with the recommendations of the pediatrician, it is necessary to introduce egg yolk, buckwheat, peaches, apples, apricots, dried apricots, pears and spinach into the child's diet.
It is possible to increase the hemoglobin indices only by taking special medications, such as: "Aktiferrin", "Tardiferron", "Ferrum Lek", "Hemofer". The drugs should be taken only as directed by the pediatrician, having previously carefully studied the instructions for use.
