The new hobby for alpine skiing has led to the fact that today on the mountain slopes you can see people of all ages - from 3 years to 70. Young parents who are fond of this sport take kids with them, who are still not very firm on their feet … We can say that up to 5 years old children are not yet ready to master complex techniques and skiing for them comes down to the pleasure of walking and descending from small slides. But even for those whose weight barely exceeded 10 kg, it is already possible to pick up alpine skis.

Instructions

Step 1

You should not buy your child his first alpine skis, from which he will grow up in a month, in a sports store. Rent them or buy them from your hands. No need to take skis "for growth" or classic, of the same width along the entire length. Put your child on carving skis right away - with a "waist" in the middle and a wide toe and heel.

Step 2

The length of children's skis starts from 70 cm, this is just the most suitable size for a young skier, whose weight is 10-20 kg. In order for carving skis to be manageable and so that the toe and heel do not burrow into the snow, the weight of the skier must be sufficient so that the curved middle part of the ski touches the snow. Therefore, skis with a length of 70 to 80 cm will be enough for someone whose weight does not exceed 20 kg.

Step 3

After the child's weight exceeds 20 kg, you can already pick up skis with a length of 90 cm, and for children weighing 32 to 41 kg - skis 100 cm long. For those who are already confidently standing on alpine skiing and coping well with them, it is possible for each manufacturer of sports equipment to have their own recommendations for the selection of ski equipment, including for children and juniors.

Step 4

After the child has gained weight of 41-45 kg, he can already get up on skis that are matched by height. Their length should be about up to his nose. Those kids who still have little experience or do not have caution and a sense of danger, let them ski on shorter skis, the length of which reaches their chin.

Step 5

Buy skis for children in the middle price segment, in terms of quality and technologies used, they are almost the same for all manufacturers, so just choose the right color.
