When a woman breastfeeds a baby, she has to strictly monitor her diet. After all, any substance contained in food or drink that enters her body, after feeding, turns out to be in the baby's body! And not everything that an adult can eat and drink is safe for a tiny baby. If the mother does not think about it, the baby may have colic, allergies. In some cases, things can come to a more unpleasant outcome. So how should a woman who is nursing a baby eat?
Instructions
Step 1
It is advisable for a nursing woman to exclude from her diet (or at least reduce consumption to a minimum) spicy, pickled, smoked foods, fatty meats and lard. Spicy seasonings, especially exotic ones, and fatty sauces are also undesirable.
Step 2
The same can be said for foods that can cause severe allergic reactions. These are, first of all, nuts, honey, some types of seafood, eggs, red fruits (especially citrus fruits) and berries.
Step 3
The diet of a nursing mother should include lean meat, for example, veal, beef. Chicken and turkey meat are very useful, especially their fillets, where there is practically no fat. Such meat is not only tasty and well absorbed by the body, but also practically does not cause allergic reactions in babies. It is better to use it boiled, stewed or baked. Lean fish - river or sea fish are also good.
Step 4
As a side dish for meat or fish, it is best to use boiled or baked potatoes, boiled pasta, stewed vegetables, various cereals - rice, millet, buckwheat.
Step 5
From lactic acid products, you can eat cottage cheese (preferably low-fat), sour cream, fermented baked milk, varenets. Cheese can also be eaten, but it is better to refrain from varieties with mold or with a sharp taste.
Step 6
Of course, a nursing mother is categorically forbidden to drink alcohol! Unfortunately, some people from among relatives or girlfriends advise mothers with babies to drink beer: they say, then lactation will improve, and there will be no harm to the child, because there is little alcohol in the beer. In no case should you follow such advice.
Step 7
From drinks, you can drink tea, water without restrictions. It is better to refrain from store-bought juices, since they almost always contain artificial chemical preservatives. Juices should be prepared at home, and only from fruits, vegetables and berries that do not cause an allergic reaction and colic in the baby's tummy. For example, from green apples, pumpkin, celery. It is best if the mother introduces juices into her diet gradually, monitoring the reaction of the baby's body. It is best for mom to refuse drinks made from exotic fruits (mango, passion fruit).
Step 8
Of course, a nursing mother can occasionally pamper herself with smoked meat, nuts, and seafood. But in small quantities, and only if the child does not develop an allergy after that.
