Duphaston effectively compensates for the lack of progesterone, creating normal conditions for the development of the fetus, and also eliminates uterine hypertonicity, relaxing smooth muscles. A doctor should prescribe Duphaston during pregnancy. The dosage regimen of the drug is determined individually, depending on the characteristics of the patient's condition. Unlike a number of other synthetic progesterone analogues, Duphaston does not have pronounced side effects, so it can be taken for a long time. As a rule, Duphaston is taken during the first 16 weeks of the term, but if necessary, the duration of therapy can be extended to 20-22 weeks of pregnancy.
