Instructions

Step 1

For kids in the age category from one to two years old, you should choose a bicycle equipped with some special parts and devices for the convenience of riding this vehicle. Bicycles for the little ones are similar in design to strollers.

Step 2

Models for toddlers from one to two years old must have at least three wheels, a special handle with which parents can roll the child, a low comfortable seat with protective limiting bumpers and seat belts.

Step 3

The feet of young children who are not yet able to pedal a bicycle on their own should not just hang down. For them, the bike must have special stands.

Step 4

A bike for a kid should be equipped with a special awning-visor that protects the toddler from the scorching sun and heavy rain.

Step 5

Some modern toddler bicycles are designed with a toy basket. And the presence of a variety of buttons, buzzer, flashing lights, sound and light panels make cycling interesting and exciting.

Step 6

Often, a bike equipped with parts for the smallest riders is transformed into a model for older children. Accessories such as the parental handle, footrest, and restraining collar can be removed, and the bike is already rideable for a child of two to four years old. But the basket for toys remains an indispensable part of the bicycle for kids over two years old, because it is at this age that the child actively plays in the sandbox with molds, paddles, toy cars and buckets.

Step 7

Naturally, purchasing a universal bicycle with removable parts is very profitable, because it will be useful not for one, but at least for two or three years.

Step 8

For a child over four years old, you can choose a bike on two wheels. Although for beginner riders it is advisable to attach a pair of small auxiliary wheels, usually found with this kind of model, to the rear wheel of such a vehicle. By the age of five, these wheels can be removed so that the child learns to ride a two-wheeled bicycle on his own.

Step 9

You should not choose a bicycle for a child equipped with a hand brake, because it takes a lot of effort to press it. Using the foot brake on a child's bike is much safer and more comfortable for a child.

Step 10

When choosing a bicycle for a child, you should pay attention to the material from which his pedals are made. Metal, of course, is much stronger than plastic, but the price of a bicycle with metal pedals is higher than for a model with plastic pedals.

Step 11

Choose a bike for a child so that the height of his seat and handlebars are adjusted as the rider grows. The distance between the ground and the child's crotch should not be less than 10cm, provided the rider is standing with both feet on the ground.

Step 12

A kid's bike with narrow rubber tires should be chosen for city riding on smooth asphalt. Models with wide tires are great for off-road travel.
