Keeping in touch with immediate family members becomes especially important if a person has to, for example, live or work away from them. But sometimes there is not enough time for phone calls and communication via the Internet, so classic letters come to the rescue.
Instructions
Step 1
Think over the outline of your letter. If you write to your family infrequently, for example, once a month or even less often, it will be advisable to recall all the main events that happened to you during this time, so as not to forget to mention anything. Select the relatives to whom the letter will be addressed. You can write it to everyone at once, or you can address it to your wife or husband, brother or sister, your children, etc.
Step 2
Start your letter with a pleasant message to your next of kin, for example, “Dear wife and children,” “My beloved daughters,” etc. Let them know how much you miss your family. Describe your feelings in a long separation and ask if your relatives have forgotten you. Ask family members how they are feeling and if everyone is healthy. Also write how your health is.
Step 3
Start talking about the latest events that have happened to you recently. Concentrate on the ones that would be most interesting to your family. For example, they will most likely want to know if you achieved your goal for which you had to leave, how soon you can return, or invite your family to visit. Your spouse may be interested in your financial success, and children may be interested in interesting places that you have visited, special meetings, gifts that you have prepared for them, etc.
Step 4
Remember what you talked about with relatives before leaving or in previous letters. Ask if they have complied with your requests, instructions, as well as how things are in general in your home, what has changed in the city or even the country, if you are abroad.
Step 5
Let them know when you can write to the family again, visit them, or return for good. Say that you love everyone very much and constantly think about your family. Say goodbye and sign the letter. You can attach a beautiful postcard, drawing or small souvenir to it to make it even more interesting.
