Preparatory exercises are associated with the development of the muscles of the tongue involved in pronouncing the sound "r". To test the muscles of your tongue, just try to reach your nose or chin with the tip of your tongue. If you find it difficult to do this, then the muscles of the tongue are weak and must be strengthened with exercise.

Pour clean water into a small container and try to lick it like a cat. The exercise may sound simple, but it is not. Speech therapists believe that performing this exercise every day for 5-10 minutes, you will significantly strengthen the muscles of the tongue.

Try to imitate the clatter of your tongue by pressing it tightly against the upper palate. Clinks should be loud and clear.

In front of an open mirror, open your mouth and move your tongue from the upper palate to the lower. In this exercise, it is important to control the movement of the tongue up and down.

Move your tongue over the upper and lower jaw to simulate brushing your teeth. It is important to feel every muscle of the tongue.

Such exercises allow developing the muscles of the tongue, atrophied for various reasons, which are involved in the formation of the "r" sound. The language will eventually get used to a certain position and will automatically perform its functions. It is important to practice the skill to automatism.

Exercises aimed at setting the sound "r"

Breathe out the air so that your lips tremble. First, this exercise must be done in a whisper, then with a voice. This is how our articulatory apparatus learns to pronounce trembling sounds.

Raise the tip of your tongue to the upper palate to make the "d" sound. Pronounce the sound "d" quickly, hitting the upper palate. The sound "d" is similar to the sound "r" in the way it is formed. Therefore, it will be easier for you to learn how to pronounce the sound "r" from this position. In this exercise, you will automate the skill of correctly stating the language when pronouncing the "r" sound.

Press and lift the tip of the tongue from the upper palate clearly and quickly. In this case, you will hear the sound "t". Then blow air out through the mouth, causing the tip of the tongue to flutter. If done correctly, you will end up with the "r" sound.

Relax your tongue as much as possible and stick it out. Pronounce the sound "a" by moving your tongue back and forth. The tongue should slide over the upper palate. When your tongue touches the alveoli, you will hear a short "r". It is necessary to fix this position and work it out to automatism.

With regular exercise, you will get a fairly quick and consistent result. It is advisable to start the automation of the "p" sound from words in which the "p" sound is in the initial syllable. Then you can move on to more complex words. Do not forget about tongue twisters, which will allow you to automate the pronunciation of the "r" sound in a short time.
