A sling is a sling for wearing babies from birth to two to three years of age. This is a traditional way of carrying, rooted in the culture of many peoples of the world. The popularity of slings in modern society is associated with an increased interest in natural parenting methods.

Ring sling
Instructions
Step 1
Get a ring sling - a strip of dense fabric 220-350 cm long, 70-80 cm wide, to one end of which two rings are sewn. Take the sling by the free end and fold it up with an accordion so that the entire end fits in the palm of your hand. Thread the accordion-shaped ponytail through two rings, folding the entire strip with the wrong side inward.
Step 2
Open the rings and thread the fabric through one of the rings to secure. Continue passing the strip through the ring until the fabric, secured by the rings, reaches 120-140 cm in length. Put your hands inside the fixed strip and pull the fabric between your hands, straightening the folds.
Step 3
Spread out the sling on the rings to make it easier to adjust the flow of fabric through them later. Pull some of the fabric between the rings, loosening the loop. Straighten the loop, gathering it into small, regular folds. Make sure that the edges of the strip are not wrinkled.
Step 4
Make sure that the fabric in the rings is evenly distributed around the entire circumference and that the edges are not wrinkled. Hold the sling in front of you, tail in front, rings at the top. Pass your hand through the sling, then throw it over your head and place it on your shoulder (the rings are in the collarbone region).
Step 5
Straighten the fabric on the back, there should be no kinks or wrinkles. Then wrap yourself tightly with a sling: pull all excess fabric to the rings, starting from the top edge. Do this gradually, locking the stretch at each step to avoid twisting the fabric. Pull the excess tissue from under the arm with one hand and transfer to the other, that is, the one that is closer to the rings.
Step 6
Do the same for the middle of the sling and for the bottom flange. When all the excess fabric is collected in the hand closest to the rings, transfer them to the other hand, pull it, and with the hand closest to the rings, take and pull the tail.
Step 7
Do this in the same way in stages: first pull the top side, then the middle, then the bottom side, so as not to knock the fabric in the ring. As a result, you should be tightly wrapped in a sling, the rings are just below the collarbone.
Step 8
For a hammock, lift the sling over your shoulder using the rings, loosening the tension around your body. Loosen the grip so that the bottom collar reaches the side of the hipbone. Now the sling is completely ready to use, you can put the baby in a hammock, or sit down, carry it on the chest in front of you or on the hip.
