For a child to be fully engaged, the correct development of the thinking function is important. The main processes occur precisely at preschool age. Therefore, it is necessary to deal with the child precisely for the development of thinking even before he goes to kindergarten.
Thinking in children 3-4 years old
Thinking is a form of human cognitive activity. It is directly related to the perception of objects. After birth in children, this function is not yet developed, there are only conditioned and unconditioned reflexes.
As you grow and develop, the nervous system improves, including thinking. In preschool age, a restructuring occurs, and thinking becomes different. From the age of three, children very often use the wrong course of action to solve a particular situation.
They do not evaluate the possible options, but immediately start solving the problem. This often leads to a negative result. If at the age of 1, 5 years, the child is dominated by visual-active thinking, then in the period from 3 to 4 years of age, visual-figurative thinking activity is of the greatest importance.
The difference between the latter is that kids can create images in their subconscious and solve problems with their help. That is, the child may not feel the object, but have an idea about it in his head.
Middle and senior preschool children
From the age of 4, thinking undergoes some changes. Before solving any important problem, the child first of all calculates the possible options. For example, in the event that there are several correct options, then with a subsequent attempt, the baby can find a new solution without resorting to external interactions with the object.
All these features contribute to the acquisition of general knowledge that will subsequently help the baby in his educational activities and personal life. From the age of 5, abstract-logical thinking begins to function in children. It cannot be said that they can fully use it.
Now there are only precursors of this type of mental activity. They consist in manipulating not images, but special concepts that are presented in the form of words. At this time, children can use words to represent the subject.
It should be noted that the main forms of thinking are judgment, representation and inference. Children of preschool age (from 3 to 6 years old) generally have a developed idea. With age, it will be replaced by the inference that is typical for adults.
Thus, knowledge of the characteristics of the development of children plays an important role in the correct organization of the educational process and the formation of the baby as a person.
