On the first day of complementary foods, give your baby a couple of teaspoons of food and breastfeed. Watch carefully for the reaction of the small organism. If redness, rash, loose stools, or complaints of a sore stomach appear, skip this dish and try another after 3-4 days. If the child reacted normally, the next day, increase the serving by one more scoop. By the end of the week, the baby should eat 50 g of complementary foods, and after two weeks you will probably be able to replace one meal with a portion of 100 g. No need to add salt to baby food. Let your child experience natural flavors. But butter can be added, but not immediately and in small quantities.

Change the dish after two weeks. Try new porridge or other vegetables. After the child has tried a couple of dishes, you can pamper him with fruit puree: apple or pear. You should not start complementary foods right away with fruits. Many parents want to feed their baby something tasty. However, after sweet puree, he can refuse vegetables and cereals. Alternatively, give your child juice (apple or pear). You must also start with a couple of spoons.

Step 5

It is more convenient to feed the child with a coffee or a small silver spoon. Don't be discouraged if your toddler spits out food, cries, and refuses to eat. Offer to him several times, but do not force the child. He may get scared, and in the future it will be difficult for you to train him to eat. Also, you should not specifically replace feeding completely with complementary foods, if the child even after eating requires milk.
