Parents often notice that in the off-season in kindergarten there are a lot of children with their child with symptoms of various diseases: coughs, runny nose, sneezing or sore throat. Is it possible for such children to attend the kindergarten? And where to go if there are many sick children in the group?
Many parents have probably come across the fact that their children will not have time to go to the kindergarten for a week or two, as they begin to get sick. As a result, it turns out that the child spends less time in the garden, and more - on treatment at home. Such a schedule causes discontent among parents, especially those who work. Someone blames the kindergarten staff for this, and someone else blames the parents. What to do in such a situation?
Can I take my children to the garden if they have symptoms of the disease?
According to the current SanPiN, during the daily morning reception of children in the kindergarten, educators and (or) a nurse must interview parents about the child's health, examine the skin and measure the temperature in their presence.
Children with suspicion of the presence of the disease, revealed during such an examination, are not admitted to kindergarten, but I go to the hospital illi polyclinic for examination or treatment.
If during the day the child has symptoms of a disease, the teacher sends him to the kindergarten first-aid post for examination. If the nurse confirms that the child has a suspicion of illness, the teacher informs his parents about it. And the child is isolated before they arrive.
If the child is in serious condition, the kindergarten workers will call an ambulance and send the child to the hospital, informing the parents.
After undergoing treatment, parents must provide a certificate to the preschool educational institution that the child is healthy. In this case, the child may have a residual cough or runny nose.
In fact, such measures are taken either in the midst of epidemics, or are not applied at all.
What do doctors think about this?
Many doctors believe that only a pediatrician can decide whether a child can attend kindergarten with certain symptoms. It is he who determines whether a child's disease is contagious and whether his stay in a team is dangerous for other children. But at the same time, the nurse can decide to remove the child if there is a suspicion of the disease.
Immunity in children is different, someone can be in the same room with sick children and not get infected, and someone can not just catch the "infection", but sleep with serious complications. Therefore, when parents at their own peril and risk lead a sick child to the garden, they not only endanger his health, but the health of other children too.
The famous doctor Komarovsky believes that the presence of a runny nose, cough and temperature up to 38 degrees is not a reason not to go to the garden. In the garden, many children with snot, cough, but they feel great. In his opinion, in this way the immunity of children is strengthened.
A significant reason not to take the child to kindergarten, Komarov believes, is when the child cannot get up, when his temperature is more than 38 degrees, diarrhea or vomiting, or other significant signs of the disease.
Many experts note that it is considered normal abroad to take a child to the garden with a runny nose, cough, or mildly fever. In Russia, according to the norms, only healthy children are allowed in the garden.
What to do if sick children are brought into the group?
If parents notice that there are too many coughing, sneezing and snotty children in the group, they have the right to file a complaint with the nurse or manager so that they can check and more thoroughly examine the children in the morning.
When contacting, you can safely refer to the SanPiN and the Decree of the Chief State Doctor of the Russian Federation "On measures for the prevention of influenza and SARS in the epidemic season 2018-2019", which clearly states that children with suspected disease should not be admitted to a children's institution.
Sick children in kindergarten are the responsibility not only of the staff, but also of the parents themselves. As much as educators and nurses try to conduct morning examinations while parents drive their sick children, this problem will be relevant. On the other hand, not because of a good life, parents have to take their sick child to the garden at their own risk.
